There are in fact some legal responsibilities and obligations involved with fire safety and protection due to the serious nature of the subject. All businesses, organisations and non-domestic buildings are required to have a fire risk assessment done in line with The Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005.

In the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 it actually states that if you have more than five regular occupants in a building you must undertake a fully comprehensive fire risk assessment.

Record, plan, inform and train (if required) – We produce records, notes and documents on every project we undertake because we not only want to share with you as the customer what we’ve been up to, but it also gives you something to refer back to should you need it. It may also act as evidence that you’ve actually had a fire risk assessment completed.
Review regularly – Following the completion of one fire risk assessment, it’s important to keep topping them up too. Buildings change for a number of different reasons over time so the potential fire risks will too.
